International Disaster Risk Reduction Day observed

District Joint Collector Mallikarjuna, participated as a chief guest at a meeting organised by Nokia, Action and Save the Children Organizations on International Disaster Risk Reduction Day at Vidhana Gautami Hall in the Collectorate here on Friday.

Speaking on this occasion JC said that children are the future and it is a good thing that these children are being trained to tackle the emergency situations. Mallikarjuna further told that they have prepared a plan on disaster management from the direction of the district collector and in that plan, they have incorporated all the details like when will disasters come, where the cyclone shelters are and what precautions should take when a disaster strike, he added.

JC appreciated the Nokia, Action and Save the Children Organizations on giving the training to children and further told that they have mapped all the important things like taller buildings, Cyclone shelters, secured buildings in those maps. He further asked the children to visit all those cyclone shelters after the training.
DFO Ratna Babu, DPRO M.Francis, Representatives of Action Bhargav, Sarpanches and school children also participated.
