Krishna District Fire Officer B Veerabhadra Rao on Thursday said that the fire department officials had been conducting fire safety awareness meetings for all section of people from April 14 onwards at different places in the city including shopping malls, schools, movie theaters, bus stands, colonies and other public places to prevent fire accidents in the summer season.

The Fire fighters week-long celebrations concluded at fire station near police control room here. On this occasion, Director General of Fire Services K Satyanarayana inaugurated the firefighters' week long closing celebrations.
Firefighters created awareness at different shopping malls and for security staff, security supervisors and students of other organisations over how to prevent fire in case of a gas cylinder blast at homes and other places with the support of a plastic bucket, wet cloth, co2 and fire equipments. They also conducted mock drills on how to save a person with the support of rope in apartments in case of a fire.
Veerabhadra Rao said that all section of people should check the gas cylinder, electrical panel boards and other fire related equipments on a daily bases to preventing fire accidents at homes and other places in summer time.
He said that the fire department officials distributed pamphlets regarding the methods of preventing fire accidents and all section of people must make a phone call to the fire department’s number 101 to prevent fire accidents. Regional fire officers D Murali was present along with all the city fire officers.
