The Tata Hexa was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and while many would expect the Kite 5 to be the next launch from the company, it’s actually the Hexa which is coming up next, set to go on sale by November 2016. The reason for not launching the Kite 5 soon is the huge waiting period for the Tiago as both the cars share almost all their components. Thus launching the Kite 5 would only lead to a higher waiting period for the Tiago siblings.
The Hexa which replaces the Aria, uses the same platform but gets massive revisions inside-out to boost the appeal of the crossover MPV. The exterior has many SUV elements which gives the Tata Hexa a bold look while the interiors have seen a big leap in both quality and equipment. The Hexa not only boasts of a ton of features, it also is high on comfort thanks to the generous space inside the cabin.
The Tata Hexa gets a Harman infotainment system with a 5.0-inch touch-screen, paired to 10 JBL speakers. There is also a Terrain Response System which is very similar to the one seen on Land Rover SUVs. Other features include six airbags, ESP, projector headlights, DRLs, 19-inch wheels, engine drag control and a reverse parking camera with sensors and guidelines.
Powering the Tata Hexa would be the 2.2-litre diesel mill that generates 156 BHP of power and 400 Nm of torque, paired to 6-speed transmissions, both manual and automatic. The Tata Hexa will be priced attractively to take on the hot selling Toyota Innova Crysta in the Indian market.
