Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) is all set to educate public about sanitation and importance of environment on the eve of pushkarams in the city. The new committee of JVV which was elected at 14th State level meeting resolved to organise an awareness exhibition on ‘Jeeva Nadulu-Paryavarana Parirakshana- Samskruthi’ and to hold a State wide seminar on ‘Sampradayam-Rajakeeyalu’.
In a release to the media, JVV city secretary K Srinivas mentioned that the State committee felt educating public on safe drinking water and clean surroundings will not just promote health consciousness but also paves way for people to divert from superstitions. JVV is hopeful in empowering them with scientific knowledge that convinces them of their surroundings and circumstances, he said.
Speaking about the seminar and exhibition, Srinivas said, since pushkarams are around the corner and thousands of devotees are expected, it is necessary to make them aware of maintaining hygiene, which is good for them so as to others. The expo is aimed to educate people about the river bodies, their significance, role in human sustenance, pollution among others. Photographs, science projects and models will be put up. Meanwhile, on July 31, a seminar will be held to reach out to learned community on traditions and politics, he added.
JVV has identified the need to educate people especially tribals about safe drinking water. Lack of basic amenities and safe drinking water, people in remote areas are falling prey to diseases and seasonal infections. JVV decided to step into action in educating them about safe water, better food, clean surroundings that promotes their health.
The above mentioned proposals were put forth during the 14th State level meetings recently held at Kadapa where a few resolutions were put forward. A new working body committee was elected on the occasion.
