Adilabad: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) organised ‘Rakhi Pournami’ celebrations on the premises of Sri Venkateswara Swami temple as part of its ‘Mana Gudi’ prgoramme here on Wednesday. Large number of women and children took part in the celebrations. Special pujas were performed to the deity on the auspicious Shravana Purnima. The festival was celebrated with religious fervour across the district.
‘Rakhi Pournami’ celebrations were also organised under the aegis of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Brahma Kumaris and Akhila Bharata Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) in Adilabad town.
Brahma Kumaris tie Rakhis to police
Khammam: Members of Brahma Kumaris tied Raksha Bandhan to SP AV Ranganath and other police officials at District Training Centre (DTC) for police in the town on Wednesday to celebrate Rakhi Pournami. The members also tied Raksha Bandhan to 217 personnel who are participating in the training. These police personnel have come from Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar and Hyderabad districts.
DSP B Gangaram, Reserve SIs Bharath Bhushan, Narsaiah, CI Buchaiah and other officials participated in the celebration.
Nizamabad: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at District Police Office in the town on Wednesday. Women police officials tied Rakhis to Superintendent of Police KV Mohan Rao and other senior officers on the occasion.
