Karim Arafa is a 34-year-old Tunisian entrepreneur who renovates thrown away tables and chairs and donates them to schools and hospitals.

Karim aims at reducing the environmental impact of unwanted furniture. He fixes the furniture which is in bad condition, and people think that it cannot be used anymore. He removes the rust, fixes it and gives it a makeover. These colourful and elaborate pieces of furniture are later donated to public schools and hospitals.

Initially, he volunteered at an institute; he saw scraps like thrown away chairs and tables were thrown away, which is a threat to the environment. He began this workshop and hired three workers to collect trash and recycle them. The project funded by himself and he dreams of expanding in the future. He hopes that the project will grow more and he gets support from authorities, the cabinet, the presidency or civil society, and that will be able to hire hundreds of workers, not restricted to three.
