Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment in a case related to the death of the Unnao rape victim’s father.
Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment in a case related to the death of the Unnao rape victim's father. The expelled BJP MLA has also been fined Rs.10 lakhs in the case.
Six others have been sentenced to prison terms in the case and Sengar has already been sentenced to a jail term for the rest of his 'natural biological life" in the Unnao rape case.
Earlier, a Delhi court held the expelled BJP MLA and others guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in connection with the death of the victim's father in judicial custody.
The court held that the evidence in the case proved beyond reasonable doubt that the expelled BJP MLA had tried to implicate the victim's father in a false case by planting a country-made gun and cartridges.
The court also pulled up the police and doctors and the district hospital for their handling of the case.
A truck rammed into a car in which the Unnao rape survivor was travelling in July 2019. She was accompanied by her lawyer and family members. The accident claimed the lives of two of her aunts.
The victim was shifted to All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi and is currently under CRPF protection at a safe location.
