Ranu Mondal is one of the 10 most searched personalities list on Google in 2019. Also, the list has topped by Abhinandan Varthaman.
Google India has released its annual Year in Search 2019 list in several categories including movies, personalities, songs, sports events, and news. As far as the most searched personalities list is concerned, Abhinandan Varthaman occupied the first spot followed by Lata Mangeshkar and Yuvraj Singh. It shouldn't be surprising that Ranu Mondal's name appeared on the list as well considering the fact that the singer made headlines since August consistently.
Anand Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, and Tara Sutaria were also named in the list as the internet was interested in updates about the mathematician and the aforementioned actors.
In this piece, we list the 10 most searched personalities on Google in 2019 and the reason why they trended furiously on the internet.
1. Abhinandan Varthaman
In February, India stayed hooked to every word and every development on Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. During an aerial battle, Abhinandan shot down a Pakistani F-16 near the Line of Control (LoC), following which his own aircraft, a MiG-21 Bison, had been hit by a missile. Abhinandan, thereafter, was captured by Pakistani security forces but was released around 60 hours later at the Wagah border after pressure mounted on Pakistan from all over the world.
2. Lata Mangeshkar
Lata Mangeshkar swiftly made it to the second spot on the most searched personalities list despite being in the news since November. The 90-year-old singer has been one of the top trends ever since she was hospitalized on November 11 after being diagnosed with pneumonia. Meanwhile, rumors of the legendary singer's death surfaced as concerned fans enquired about the veracity of the news on Twitter. Mangeshkar's niece Rachana stepped in soon after and dispensed rumors. Rachana also added that the singer was fine and requested fans to "ignore all the fake reports." Lata Mangeshkar was discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital on December 8 after her treatment and also thanked fans for their messages in a post on Twitter.
3. Yuvraj Singh
It was a rather sorrowful day for cricket fans as Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from international cricket on June 10, 2019, after a career of 17 years. Twitter was flooded with emotional messages as Yuvraj's friends and colleagues along with fans and followers posted messages for him on social media.
4. Anand Kumar
Hrithik Roshan's July release Super 30, based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, made the latter one of the most searched personalities in 2019. Directed by Vikas Bahl, Super 30 garnered a whole lot of love from audiences as well as critics for meticulously narrating Anand Kumar's educational program of the same name.
5. Vicky Kaushal
Well, folks. You know this story by now. After killer performances in Lust Stories, Sanju and Manmarziyaan in 2018, Vicky Kaushal made an ecstatic start to 2019 with his act in January's Uri: The Surgical Strike. For his role as Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army, Vicky also won the Best Actor National Award.
6. Rishabh Pant
