New Delhi: Aam Aadmi party (AAP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) expressed their displeasure over not being invited to the virtual all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at 5 pm over the India-China face-off on the border. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh posted a tweet to say that it was the Narendra Modi government's arrogance which prevented it from sending out an invite to the AAP. The Rajya Sabha MP from AAP further said that his party was not only in power in Delhi, but was the most important opposition party in the state of Punjab. It had four MPs in Parliament and yet did not receive an invite for the all-party meeting, he said.

Rajya Sabha MP from RJD, Manoj Jha, pointed out that his party had the requisite five MPs which was being cited as a part of the criteria for the invite for the all-party meet convened by the Prime Minister. He added that his party was the first to raise the issue of the need for an all-party meeting. Jha added that political parties with fewer MPs had been invited for the all-party meeting.

The Rajya Sabha MP gave the example of Apna Dal with two MPs, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with 4 MPs, CPI with 2 MPs, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) with 2 MPs and National Conference (NC) with 1 MP being invited to the all-party meeting. Manoj Jha observed that different criteria for different parties, are being adopted by the BJP-led government.
