Northern Railway General Manager T P Singh held a meeting with the members of the Zonal Rail Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) in New Delhi on Friday.

New Delhi: Northern Railway General Manager T P Singh held a meeting with the members of the Zonal Rail Users' Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) in New Delhi on Friday. This is in accordance with the directives given by Union Railway Minster Piyush Goyal, advising General Managers of Zonal Railways to increase public outreach to get feedback for providing better service to the nation.

Railway-related issues in areas falling under northern railway were discussed with the nominated members of the committee to find quick solutions for the benefit of the passengers.

Out of the 222 Members of ZRUCC (North Zone), 160 were present in the meeting. The members in unison agreed that railway has been working well in all fields for providing better services to the rail users. They appreciated the railways efforts in connecting the far flung and previously untouched areas of the Northern India.

Members representing Uttrakhand were particularly excited about the new line coming up connecting Rishikesh in the plains to Karnaprayag in the Himalayas. Many more from Punjab, Haryana, UP, Delhi NCR and the newly reorganized Jammu & Kashmir also expressed their views in the meeting.

General Manager T P Singh along with Principal Head of the various Departments and several senior officers of Northern Railway were present on the occasion. The GM welcomed the ZRUCC Members and briefed them about the various developmental activities, new initiatives and the completed, ongoing and planned works relating to passenger amenities, infrastructure and services at stations and trains within the jurisdiction of Northern Railway.

The members presented various issues related to their area. They exhorted NR to complete the infrastructure and public convenience related projects on top priority. They also volunteered to help wherever there was any co-ordination required with the state administration for timely completion of the projects.

T P Singh promised the Members that Northern Railway would resolve the public grievances and issues put forth by them as early as possible. He further said that Northern Railway would always remain committed in the service of the passengers and rail users.
