Nadda Accuses Rahul Gandhi Of Demoralising Armed Forces

The ongoing war of words between the Congress and the ruling BJP at the Centre escalated with BJP president JP Nadda on Tuesday, accusing Rahul Gandhi of dividing the nation and demoralising armed forces. Taking to Twitter, Nadda recalled that the Congress party had signed an MoU with the Chinese Communist party first and subsequently surrendered land to China. Nadda added that during the Doklam stand-off with China, Rahul Gandhi secretly went to the Chinese embassy in Delhi.

The BJP president further said that in critical situations and at crucial times, Rahul Gandhi tries to divide the nation and demoralise the armed forces.

Nadda concluded his tweet by wondering whether the Congress leader's attempts to demoralise the Armed Forces and divide the nation were effects of his party's MoU with the Chinese Communist Party?

The Congress, perhaps sensing an opportunity to criticise the BJP has been sniping at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's handling of the LAC stand-off with China. Rahul Gandhi has been attacking Prime Minister Modi on social media on a regular basis on the LAC stand-off. The Wayanad MP has been posing questions to PM Modi on Twitter asking him whether China had occupied India's territory.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also issued a statement on Monday asking the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre not to allow the sacrifices of brave Indian soldiers including Colonel Santosh Babu to go in vain. The former prime minister cautioned PM Modi against allowing China to use his words as vindication for their stand. He also observed that disinformation is no substitute for diplomacy, in an oblique reference to PM Modi's statement at the all party meeting in which he said that there had been no incursions into Indian territory. The statement was clarified by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Saturday, but the Congress continues to attack PM Modi on the issue.
