Modi has always placed trust in youth: Haryana CM

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini greeted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday and stated that he always places trust in the nation’s youth.

He said this while flagging off a marathon against drug abuse in Ambala city and said the enthusiasm of thousands of young participants reflected resolve to fight the menace.

Addressing the marathon participants, Saini said he was delighted to be among the energetic youth and congratulated all those taking part in the Nasha Mukt Haryana Namo Marathon.

“The enthusiasm of thousands of young people is proof that Ambala has resolved to wage a decisive battle against drugs,” he said.

The Chief Minister, extending birthday greetings to PM Modi, said that the nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is being launched to celebrate the occasion. He said that PM Modi has always placed his trust in the country’s youth, believing that their energy, talent and innovation were the strongest foundation for building a developed India.

“Under his able leadership, today’s India is providing its youth opportunities to dream and turn those dreams into reality,” CM Saini said.

He stated that the marathon carried a message of creating awareness against drug abuse and would become a public awareness campaign whose impact would be felt across Haryana.

“Our government has viewed drug abuse in the context of the pain of Haryana’s families and the future of its youth,” he said.

CM Saini said that the state government was strengthening arrangements at four levels -- action against drug abuse, awareness, treatment and rehabilitation. The Chief Minister said the core spirit of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was that people should not live only for themselves but also contribute to society and the nation.

He congratulated and extended best wishes to all runners participating in the Nasha Mukt Haryana Namo Marathon.
