Odisha: Another incident of a selfie going wrong took place in Deogarh in Odisha. A 23-year-old medical student fell to his death in a waterfall while clicking a selfie. The deceased was identified as Shubam Prasad who was studying MBBS in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj.
According to the police, Prasad fell into the Pradhanpat waterfall while taking a selfie. His body was fished out by locals and the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team from Pradhanpat waterfall on Friday morning.
Police said that Prasad went for a morning walk on Thursday and later visited the waterfall. He further went to the upper catchment of the waterfall to take selfies. After he did not return home, his family members got worried and started searching for him.
After calling many of Prasad's friends, it was revealed that Prasad had made a video call to one of his friends in UP from the upper catchment area of the waterfall to show his friends the beautiful location. It is assumed that after the video call, he slipped into the water and drowned.
Subham's body was found floating in the waterfall on Friday morning and then taken out by police and ODRAF. Deogarh Police has registered a case and initiated an inquiry into the incident.
