Congress leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Chowdhury on Thursday accused China of being hellbent upon altering status quo on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh. The Congress leader criticised China for encroaching on Indian land imperilling India's security and territorial integrity.
In a series of Twitter posts Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury pointed out that despite India's efforts to defuse the situation on the LAC, which resulted in the loss of 20 precious Indian men in uniform, China is hellbent on altering the status quo there.
In spite of all our endeavours to diffuse the tense situation along LOAC which even resulted 20 precious lives of our army, China is hell bent upon altering the status quo

The Congress Lok Sabha leader pointed out that "China is furtively and fervently encroaching our land in a steady manner much to the peril of Indian security and territorial integrity", adding that "it is a catch-22 situation for us." At the same time, India cannot allow itself to be cowed down by the Red Army," Chowdhary added.
China is furtively and fervently encroaching our land in a steady manner much to the peril of Indian security and territorial integrity, it is a catch-22 situation for us, but we can not afford ourselves to be cowed down by the red army

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said in another tweet that the Chinese should be repulsed by any possible means.
They are to be repulsed back by whatever means, our arsenals are not meant for hatching eggs, so strike back, drive back, force back the Chinese aggression, god will be Indian in deciding the course of conflict

While most Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi have been questioning the Centre on whether China has occupied Indian territory, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury chose to focus on China's aggressive posturing on the LAC in eastern Ladakh.
Fresh media reports have revealed the beefing up of Chinese fortifications and defensive positions in new points across the LAC, even as the senior officers of the two armies in their talks have come to an understanding on the process of disengagement.
