Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that if the government did not act against the erring policemen in the video, its intention would be clear. Violence erupted in the Jamia campus during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on December 15. Police had to use lathi charge to disperse violent protesters, Delhi Police officials had stated.
Protests against CAA turned violent in and around the Jamia Millia Islamia University campus in the national capital on December 15. The Delhi Police came under flak from several quarters earlier.
The Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a media event recently, observed that the police resorted to using batons only when the protesters turned violent.
