- A Mumbai doctor's ice cream order turned into a nightmare when he discovered a human finger in his dessert.
- Read about Dr. Brendan Ferrao's horrifying experience and the ongoing investigation into this shocking incident.
A Mumbai doctor experienced a horrifying surprise after ordering ice cream online – it came with an unexpected topping: a "human finger." While enjoying the treat, he initially thought he had encountered a "big nut," but it turned out to be a finger with a nail.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when Dr. Brendan Ferrao, from Orlem in Malad, ordered three ice cream cones via an online app. One was a butterscotch cone from the Yummo brand. Describing the ordeal, Dr. Ferrao said, "As I reached the middle of the ice cream, I felt something big. Initially, I assumed it was a large nut. Thankfully, I didn't swallow it. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a nail on it."
Reflecting on the incident, he said, "Since yesterday, I've been experiencing numbness on my tongue. I can't believe I had a human body part in my mouth. The ice cream was manufactured a month ago. This is extreme medical negligence. I need a full blood checkup because the finger could have contaminated the ice cream and me."
The doctor reported the incident to the Malad police, who filed a case against Yummo Ice Cream and sent the sample for forensic analysis.
A 26-year-old doctor from Malad west, who holds an MBBS degree, ordered a butterscotch ice cream cone from Yummo. While eating it after lunch, he found a half-inch piece of flesh with a nail in the ice cream, said a senior police officer, as reported by PTI.
The police confirmed that the suspected piece of a human finger has been sent for forensic examination to determine its origin. Further investigations are ongoing.
