As the summer beings, the residents in and surrounding of Bengaluru are witnessing water crisis with no Cauvery water supply and dried up borewells.
As the summer beings, the residents in and surrounding of Bengaluru are witnessing water crisis with no Cauvery water supply and dried up borewells. The private water tankers are the only water sources for the residents, especially the East Bengaluru areas under Mahadevapura zone.
Recently on receiving the complaints from the members of Kotur Garm Panchayat, the Hosakote tahsildar has ordered a ban on private water tankers from taking water from the borewells for commercial use
Over the decision of the tahsildar, the police seized the water tankers, and Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) has disconnected the power supply to these borewells.
Responding to this, Bengaluru East Private Water Supplier's Association president RVN Babu said that they have no other choice than stopping water supply till their demands are met.
Over the issue, the apartment associations in Mahadevapura zone has approached MLA Aravind Limbavali and urged that they are facing acute water crisis during summer for which they depended on private water tankers.
Now with the decision of private tanker owners, their living has become more difficult and requested the MLA to fix the water problem, associations members said.
