Israeli Official Reveals Netanyahu Intended to Assassinate Khamenei, but 'Opportunity Wasn't There'

The fragile cessez-fire agreement in the conflict between Israel and Iran that was announced following a 12-day conflict and a 12-day war, Israel's Israeli Defence Minister said that his forces had tried to kill Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei but couldn't find an opportunity. He added that Israel does not require "US permission to execute Khamenei.

Middle East conflict: In the wake of the uncertain cease-fire in the conflict between Israel and Iran that was announced following a 12-day war that ended on the 12th of July, Israel Defence Minister claimed his forces had tried to kill the Supreme Leader in the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei. Israel Katz stated that his country was unable to execute the assassination attempt since the opportunity didn't exist. In an interview on Channel 13, Katz revealed Israel was considering assassinating Khamenei however "there was no chance."

"If Khamenei was on our radar we would have sought off his name," Israel Katz said in the interview. "We were determined to get rid of Khamenei but there was no opportunity to do so," he added. When asked whether Israel wanted the approval of America in its plans to kill Khamenei defense minister replied that Israel is not "need permission to do these things."

Katz claimed that as his assassination was on cards, the Iranian Supreme Leader was "underground to a great depth," which made it difficult to the Israeli army to find the leader. Katz also claimed that Khamenei cut off all communications with his generals during the 12 year war. However, Khamenei issued several video messages during the ceasefire but there is no evidence to support the claim that the fact that he cut off his contacts.

Katz has also claimed Katz has also claimed that Israel has "green light" by Donald Trump to launch a new strike against Iran in the event that Iran is believed to being making "progress" in the nuclear programme. "I do not think we are in any scenario where Iran is going to reopen its nuclear facilities it destroyed following the strike," the Israeli minister stated.
