Warangal: National Institute of Technology inks pact with Prime Textiles

The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NITW) and Prime Textiles, Warangal, entered into an MOU on Wednesday towards educational and scientific research areas as a part of IMPRINT project entitled “Development and Demonstration of Pilot-scale Hybrid Waste Water Treatment system with Hydrodynamic Cavitation and Bio-surfactant for Recycling textile Effluent.”

Warangal: The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NITW) and Prime Textiles, Warangal, entered into an MOU on Wednesday towards educational and scientific research areas as a part of IMPRINT project entitled "Development and Demonstration of Pilot-scale Hybrid Waste Water Treatment system with Hydrodynamic Cavitation and Bio-surfactant for Recycling textile Effluent." The project was sanctioned to NIT's Chemical Engineering Department. It is the first time that a local industry and NITW are joining hands to solve the wastewater treatment problem in Warangal. The MOU is valid for a period of five years.

NITW Director Prof NV Ramana Rao and Prime Textiles managing partner Vijay Prathap Reddy signed the MOU in the presence of Prof Shirish H Sonawane, the Principal Investigator of the IMPRINT project & Head of Chemical Engineering. As per the joint statement released by the duo, the MoU is aimed at arranging internship, placements, guest lectures to graduates and post graduate students.

It also aims at exploring mutual scientific cooperation between NITW and Prime Textiles in areas of mutual interests with focus on societal needs. NITW Registrar Govardhana Rao, Dr S Muralimohan, Dr S Rajamohan, Prof L Anjaneyulu and Dr Sreehari Rao Patri were among others present.
