Every Employee Must Treat Census Work as a Responsibility: GWMC Commissioner
WARANGAL: Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) Commissioner T. Venkanna has directed officials to conduct the second phase of Census–2027 with accuracy, transparency and complete responsibility.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the concluding session of a two-day training programme for charge clerks and technical assistants from Hanumakonda district and the GWMC limits, held at the GWMC Council Hall on Wednesday.
Addressing the trainees, Venkanna said the population census was a crucial exercise that provides key inputs for the country’s development planning. He said census data would help in the formulation of welfare schemes and future development programmes.
The Commissioner asked officials to apply the lessons learnt during the training effectively in the field and record information without errors. He stressed that every employee should treat census work as a personal responsibility.
Venkanna said officials should have a clear understanding of the process of converting house listing blocks, prepared during the first-phase House Listing Operation (HLO), into enumeration blocks for the second-phase population count. He asked them to carry out their duties with clarity on the questionnaire, procedures and technical aspects.
He further directed the staff to follow prescribed guidelines, coordinate with officials of the concerned departments and make proper use of the training to discharge their assigned responsibilities effectively.
City Planner Ravinder Radekar, and trainers Satish and Prashanth from the Hyderabad Census Department, among others, attended the programme. The trainers explained the procedures and technical aspects of the population census and clarified the doubts of the participants.
