WARANGAL: Former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Sunday said Thorrur received Revenue Division status and was upgraded into a municipality during the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) after the formation of Telangana.

BRS leaders and activists, led by Errabelli, garlanded a portrait of KCR in front of the Revenue Divisional Officer’s office in Thorrur town of Mahabubabad district.

Speaking on the occasion, Errabelli said the BRS government had given priority to the development of villages and towns. He said the credit for granting Revenue Division status to Thorrur and establishing it as a municipality belonged to the KCR-led government.

He criticised the Congress government, alleging that power cuts had increased across Telangana after it came to power. He claimed farmers were facing difficulties due to shortage of irrigation water and electricity, and that crops were drying up while the government remained indifferent.

Errabelli alleged that the Congress government had failed to provide 24-hour quality power supply to farmers. He also accused it of deceiving people by not implementing the promises made during elections.

He said schemes such as Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima, implemented during the previous BRS government, had supported farmers. He expressed confidence that people would remember the BRS government’s contribution to Telangana’s development.

Errabelli asserted that the BRS would continue to stand by the people and fight for Thorrur’s development and the resolution of farmers’ problems. BRS leaders and activists participated in the programme.
