Visakhapatnam: Only 20 to 30 per cent of the farmers were benefited in the state due to 'terms and conditions' applied on Zero Interest Loan Scheme doled out by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, said TDP senior leader and former Minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu here on Sunday.

Speaking to media, Ayyanna said Jagan mentioned that the Zero Interest Loan Scheme will be implemented for those who avail a loan of less than Rs 1 lakh and repay it on time. Due to such conditions, 70 per cent of farmers were unable to avail the scheme, the TDP leader pointed out.

Ayyanna alleged that on the pretext of land survey, the government has fixed Rs 5,500 per boundary stone and is ready to bring out a land survey across the state at a cost of Rs 990 crore which is going to be nothing but a 'big scam'.

"If the CM depends on Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy for making decisions, he is sure to land in a plenty of problems and Polavaram project will not make any headway. It is quite apparent that the YSRCP government is depending on the MP for looting lands in Visakhapatnam," the TDP leader pointed out.

Referring to BJP state president Somu Veerraju's comments on putting up Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statue at Polavaram, Ayyanna said it is shameful on the leader's part to stoop to such level.
