Anakapalli: The newly built district library in Anakapalli received a major boost on Thursday as leading pharmaceutical company Eisai Pharmaceuticals India donating 2,564 books worth Rs 6.25 lakh under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Responding to the district administration’s request to stock the newly established library, pharma company representatives handed over the books to District Collector Vijaya Krishnan.

The collection includes a wide range of subjects related to education, information and entertainment. They were selected keeping the needs of students, youth and the general public in view.

Speaking on the occasion, the collector appreciated Eisai India for supporting the library and mentioned that access to good books would encourage reading, learning and knowledge-building among people of all age groups. Eisai India representatives said libraries have an important role in promoting education and knowledge and expressed happiness at partnering with the district administration to develop the new facility. Industries general manager PKP Prasad and representatives of Eisai India participated in the programme.
