Vijayawada: Thirty two years after his assassination, Vangaveeti Ranga still lives in people's hearts, said Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, former MLA and son of the former slain MLA while garlanding the statue of Ranga in connection with his death anniversary here on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering at the statue of Vangaveeti Ranga near Raghavaiah Park in the city, Radhakrishna said that Ranga strived for the welfare of weaker sections all through his life irrespective of caste and religion.

"A number of people are undertaking social service activities in the name of Ranga," he said. Radhakrishna said that he would continue the legacy of Ranga to strive for the welfare of the society. The members of Radha, Ranga Mitra Mandali also garlanded the statue of Ranga.
