Sri Govindaraja Swamy rides Simha Vahanam in Tirupati on Sunday morning
As part of the ongoing Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati, on the third day, the Lord rode on Simha Vahanam in the morning and Mutyapu Pandiri Vahanam in the night.
Tirupati: As part of the ongoing Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati, on the third day, the Lord rode on Simha Vahanam in the morning and Mutyapu Pandiri Vahanam in the night. The Lord went on a procession of pearl bedecked palanquin, ‘Muthyapu Pandiri’ in the night and blessed the devotees. According to astrology, pearls are a symbol of the Moon which gives coolness. It is believed that the Lord under the pearls will provide coolness to the devotees by removing unnecessary anxiety.
Earlier, in the morning, Sri Govindaraja Swamy in Anantha Swamy alankaram rode Simha vahanam amidst the Kolatas, bhajans, elephants with devotees offering Harati at every stage. Simha, the king of the forest displayed dignity, brevity and power besides an inclination to protect the weak from evil forces. Thereafter a grand Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed for the utsava idols of Sri Govindaraja Swamy and his consorts.
Tirumala pontiffs, Pedda Jeeyar swamy, Chinna Jeeyar swamy, Kankana Bhattar AP Srinivasa Dikshitulu, Dy EO Shanti, AEO Ravi Kumar, Superintendent Mohan Rao and inspector Dhananjayulu were present.
