Rajamahendravaram: The Critical Care Block (CCB), constructed at a cost of Rs 23.75 crore at the Government General Hospital (GGH) here under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), is set to be inaugurated virtually on Saturday.
PM-ABHIM is aimed at strengthening critical healthcare infrastructure and providing advanced medical services to patients with serious and emergency health conditions, district collector Kirti Chekuri said.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the CCB at the old Government General Hospital in Vijayawada on September 12. From the same venue, nine Critical Care Blocks and 12 Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHLs) established in various districts of the State will be inaugurated virtually. The CCB at Rajamahendravaram GGH will also be inaugurated virtually as part of the programme.
The facility is expected to strengthen emergency healthcare services in East Godavari district and enable timely treatment for critically ill patients.
An Integrated Public Health Laboratory constructed at the Anaparthi Area Hospital at a cost of Rs 1.25 crore will also be inaugurated virtually. The total cost of the medical infrastructure projects being inaugurated across state is Rs 249.50 crore.
