Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh government is providing thousands of youth with employment through private-sector jobs and work-from-home options through programmes like Kaushalam, said Social Welfare Minister Dr Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy.
The Minister, along with Prakasam District Collector P Raja Babu and Kanigiri MLA Dr Mukku Ugranarasimha Reddy, inaugurated the district-level Kaushalam placement drive, organised under the ITE&C and SGSW departments, in Ongole on Wednesday. A large number of job seekers attended the drive, and 138 candidates were selected on the day.
Speaking at the programme, Minister Swamy said the state government is conducting government recruitments for teachers and police while also helping youth build the employment skills required for the private sector. He said more than 10000 youth have already secured jobs in reputed companies through Kaushalam placements.
Collector Raja Babu said the Kaushalam platform conducts skill assessments in a transparent manner before recruitment. Green Tech Industries deputy manager Rambabu said the company is filling 750 vacancies in its Naidupeta SEZ unit in the foundry and machine shop divisions.
He said selected candidates will receive a salary of Rs 15500 to Rs 16500, along with free food, accommodation, transport, and ESI and EPF benefits. He added that candidates will also get an opportunity for one year of free training at MTE Serbia in Europe after six months of service.
