Ongole: HCG MNR Cancer Hospital and Navya Blood Bank jointly organised a blood donation camp on the occasion of Mother Teresa’s birth anniversary in Ongole on Wednesday.

About 50 staff members of HCG MNR Cancer Hospital voluntarily donated blood at the camp. Ongole Urban Development Authority chairman Shaik Reyaz, Prakasam district PDCC Bank chairman Dr Seetharamaiah and Janasena Party leader Kandi Ravisankar attended the programme and expressed their support. Speaking at the programme, Reyaz, Dr Seetharamaiah and Ravisankar said that blood donation is one of the greatest acts of social service a person can do to save another life.

They praised the donors, doctors, staff and organisers for their efforts.

HCG MNR Cancer Hospital COO Narasimha Murthy Satuluri informed that health services are not limited to treating patients inside the hospital. He said that raising awareness about voluntary blood donation among the public is equally a responsibility, and that the camp was organised with that aim.
