Attacking minister’s office unacceptable: Congress MLC

Nalgonda: Congress party leaders condemned the alleged attack by BJP workers on the camp office of Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy earlier this week. Addressing a press conference at the camp office on Tuesday, MLC Shankar Naik along with former municipal chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy, and former ZPTC member Gummula Mohan Reddy criticised the incident.

Naik said that everyone has the democratic right to stage protests and express their views, but resorting to physical attacks was unacceptable and reflected a lack of political culture. He alleged that BJP district president Varshit Reddy was indulging in what he described as petty politics merely to gain publicity on social media.

The Congress leaders further alleged that the BRS and BJP were working together to create unnecessary tension in Nalgonda, which had otherwise remained peaceful. They appealed to political parties and their supporters to maintain restraint and resolve differences through democratic and peaceful means.
