Uttam Calls for Stepping Up Congress Party’s Digital Presence Across Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has called for substantially stepping up the Congress Party’s digital presence across Telangana, asserting that social media had become indispensable to contemporary political activity everywhere.

Addressing a guidance and interaction session for Congress social media warriors at Kodad in Suryapet district , Uttam urged party workers to stay abreast of the latest digital trends and technologies and make effective use of Artificial Intelligence, short-form Reels and other emerging communication tools to strengthen public outreach.

Uttam said platforms such as Instagram, X, YouTube and Facebook had emerged as major channels of political and public communication. He particularly emphasised the growing impact of short-form video, saying crisp and attractively produced Reels could generate greater public interest and engagement than conventional posts consisting merely of photographs and captions.

"Every activity must be communicated properly. We should remain active on social media and ensure that what we do reaches the people,” he told the participants.

He urged Congress social media activists to move beyond routine posting practices and understand changing audience preferences. Political programmes, government initiatives and constituency-level activities should be presented in formats that were informative, visually appealing and capable of capturing attention quickly, he said.

The Minister also highlighted the growing potential of Artificial Intelligence tools such as ChatGPT in both political communication and administrative work. Drawing upon his own experience, Uttam explained how voice dictation could be converted into organised written material and used for making notes, official communications.

He said AI could also prove useful in preparing for important meetings. By providing the relevant background information, users could obtain a concise set of talking points or organise thoughts into a structured presentation. Kodad MLA N. Padmavathi Reddy also took part in the session.
