Trust provides food rations to 1,600 families
Mohammed Zaheeruddin Khan Memorial Welfare Trust distributes food rations for Ramzan season (Islamic month) for 1,500 poor and deserving families every year. Trustee said that ration they have added 100 more families to their list. The trust is run by a family.

Since 2013, the trust has been providing ration to the poor and needy. It was started by Late Mohammed Zaheeruddin Khan. It provided help to 70 poor families in its first year. Today, the trust is serving over 1,500 families throughout the year.
Speaking to The Hans India, Trustee Mohammed Masiuddin Khan said that after the death of his father, Mohammed Zaheeruddin Khan, he is taking the charge of the trust. He said that, "We started distributing rations to 70 families during Ramzan, and this year it crossed 1,500. The trust is providing rations to some 1,600 families," Masiuddin said.
In a month of Ramzan, immediately after sighting of the moon the trust distributes rations every year. This year rations have been distributed to a total of 1,600 needy families. Each ration kit contains 17 items, including rice, oil, wheat, 2 types of dal, mirchi powder, turmeric powder, dates, beans and some spices.
The quantities distributed depend on the size of the family. For instance, a rice pack is of 15 kg and also 25 kg, oil is of 5, 2 and 1 liter, wheat 10 kg, 5kg and dal are of 1kg and 1/2kg. "There will be Iftar arrangements with dinner throughout the Ramzan season for the devout," he added
For distributing rations, the trust has the process by identifying the deserving poor and needy families. After enquiry and verification, the families are shortlisted and attached to the trust. The trust also provides rations to some 1,500 families throughout the year after similar process.
The services also include monthly pension of Rs 200 to 800 to widows and elderly. They also provide medicine support. In addition, school fee to a child from a poor family is also provided.
According to Masiuddin Khan, the trust is entirely run by their family only. They take no funds from outside. Besides, Md Masiuddin Khan, the members of the trust are Md Azharuddin Khan, Md Javeeduddin Khan and Md Faisaluddin Khan.
