Hyderabad: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that the TRS party has to accept the verdict of the people in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections and give serious consideration to the agenda suggested by the party in taking decisions of the civic body.

Addressing media after holding a meeting with the corporator-elects and the party in-charges, here on Saturday, he said that the difference in the vote share between the TRS and BJP is nominal. It shows that people have made both as stakeholders to work for addressing their problems and development of the city.

He said that the political differences are only until elections. Once the elections are over, everyone is a people's representative. "We will extend all cooperation for the development. But, will oppose any attempts by the ruling party to run the show unilaterally with AIMIM and taking dictation from Darussalam," he added.

He also stressed on not adopting shortcuts and let down the democratic practices. And, ensure the State government and official machinery responsive to the peoples' interest. Otherwise, he said that his party will continue to build people's movements and launch agitation against the ruling party, its MLAs and leaders wrongdoings.

He said that the BJP cadre and leaders are trying to be patient. But, asked not to take it a weakness. Bandi Sanjay said that if the party had sufficient time, it might have won more than 100 seats in the GHMC elections. Reiterating his allegation that the State Election Commission (SEC) functioned remote-controlled by the Chief Minister, he said, "The election schedule was notified hastily after the AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi and SEC and DGP meetings with the CM." The sole agenda of the TRS chief was to somehow win the elections than worrying about the flood victims. He also found fault with the midnight-circular issued by the SEC and the BJP had to oppose the same before the court.

He said that the party cadre had to bear lathi charges and sustaining injuries and getting admitted in hospitals due to the attacks on them during the electioneering.

The support and participation of national leaders have sent a clear message that BJP is the only alternative to fight against the dynastic rule of the TRS and MIM in Telangana. He said that the party will demand to rename Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar. People have given a verdict to the BJP to fight and the party will take inspiration from the same and work for bringing the party into government in 2023 in Telangana, he said.
