The promoted efficient officials would also be appointed in important departments to ensure speedy implementation of government-sponsored programmes.

State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday held a video conference with all district Collectors and reviewed progress in promotions in respect of all cadres working in districts. He wanted completion of whole exercise by January 31 this year. District authorities were also asked to take up the compassionate appointments without any delay by January 24. The Chief Secretary directed the collectors to conduct a meeting at district level with all departments to arrive at number of vacancies to be filled through promotions. He asked them to conduct meetings every Monday and complete the process of promotions. Referring to the implementation of the employment guarantee scheme, Somesh Kumar congratulated all officials for crossing 14.10 crore man days under MGNREGA. He advised the collectors to make plans for next three months.

The CS asked the collectors to complete construction of 'Rythu Vedikas', 'Palle Prakrutivanams', 'Vaikunta Dhamams' drying platforms, segregation sheds and plantation in nurseries on priority basis.
