Hans News Service Nampally: The additional CP of She Teams, Shika Goel said that youth have been resorting to suicides unable to face petty problems in their lives. She was speaking at a programme held on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day organised by NGO Roshni at Hyderabad Public Gardens on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Shika Goel advised youth to face issues challengingly instead of committing suicides as it can never provide solution to issues. By committing suicides, they are causing immense sorrow to their parents and families, she said. To realise goals, one has to face hurdles and issues and resolve them with courage, she advised. Advising people not to commit suicide, Dr Srilakshmi, a psychologist working with Roshni, advised them to contact their call centre (toll free numbers 040-66202000 or 662020001) for counselling before deciding on the act. She said that Roshni would help those with suicidal tendencies through personal counselling and help them recover from mental depression. She urged people to ask those with suicidal tendencies to consult Roshni for counselling if they suspect anyone with such tendencies. On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, awareness programmes were conducted to give counselling to depressed people. Roshni director Malathi Siddamshetti also attended the programme.
