Basheerbagh: National vice-president of Jana Samrakshana Seva Samithi BV Konda Reddy has demanded that the State government dismiss the general secretary and managing trustee of Hindi Prachar Sabha M Prabhu, who is involved in several irregularities, to save the Hindi Prachar Samithi.
Speaking to the media, Konda Reddy alleged that Prabhu was involved in several scams related to the HPS. He alleged that a building belonging to HPS was sold at a throw away price. He alleged that the managing trustee has earned crores of rupees illegally by leasing trust buildings at very low prices.
A case was also filed against him accusing him of his involvement in a scam worth Rs 4.8 crore in Hindi Prachar Sabha, he alleged. As the case got delayed due to the ongoing investigation, the employees opposing him have been threatened by him, he said.
This 85-year old prestigious institution, which received accolades from the noted personalities such as the first President Babu Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Presidents, Governors, Chief Ministers, Union Ministers and others, had been destroyed since the last 20 years by its managing trustee Prabhu, Konda Reddy added. He appealed to the State government to take necessary steps to save the institution.
