Sanitation wallows in official neglect
Officials and leaders of Abdullapurmet are neglecting sanitation works in the division. Officials should take care to keep off outbreak of diseases by keeping surroundings clean.
Abdullapurmet: Officials and leaders of Abdullapurmet are neglecting sanitation works in the division. Officials should take care to keep off outbreak of diseases by keeping surroundings clean. People's representatives are also concentrating on basic amenities regarding sanitation and clear the problem in the division as the density of population is high. Locals in the area are facing with lot of diseases.
The drains which have been dug for rainwater flow from Pedda Amberpet Kathwa to the lake in Abdullapurmet are filled up with wastes and skin of animals, which is releasing a lot of stench and causing trouble to people on the way. Nearby gated community manager is releasing waste water into the lake and leaving it further polluted.
Locals demand that the officials concerned visit the area and rid them of the problems which pose threat to their health in the rainy season. They also request measures to stop dumping of waste into the drains.
"It is difficult to pass on this way as a lot of stench is released from the drain. I can't understand why officials are showing such negligence here," says A Balu, a pedestrian on the way.
JNNURM Colony basic amenities
JNTURM Colony which is built for people below poverty line is teeming with numerous problems. Drainage overflow on roads, roaming pigs, loose electrical wiring, mosquitoes, no proper street lights on roads etc., are some of the major issues facing the residents of colony. There are nearly 200 blocks in the colony, in which 24 families can live in each block.
There is no perfect drinking water facility in the colony, This is forcing people to purchase water cans at Rs 3o each from the nearby shops for drinking. Drainage water is getting jammed and creating a space for pigs to swirl in. Faced with such situations in the colony, residents in the colony are leaving the houses and staying away from there. This is resulting in empty houses.
"The sceptic tank was filled and even blew up once. If the officials do not respond, the same situation will repeat and cause a lot of damage," says Deshmukhi Ravi, a resident in JNTURM colony.
"No promises which are given before elections have been fulfilled. Officials need to respond and clear the problem at the earliest or else the remaining families will also leave the colony," says K Upendar, a resident in JNTURM Colony.
