The residents of Saket Township participated in the ‘Shramdaan’ programme in the city on Sunday. A large number of colony elders and children joined hands with GHMC workers and removed the debris from open plots and internal roads.

Saket: The residents of Saket Township participated in the 'Shramdaan' programme in the city on Sunday. A large number of colony elders and children joined hands with GHMC workers and removed the debris from open plots and internal roads.

Kamala Pant Tallavajhula, a resident, organsied the shramdaan. Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, Kamala Pant Tallavajhula said, "We would be continuing the programme every week. 'Jiska area, uska responsibility' is the call that we have given and want people to take care of their area."

Children were sensitised on the use of plastic and its harmful effect. Members of the K S Charitable Trust and Trees an NGO took part in the activity. Pratham Bharadwaj, T Jahnavi, Anvita, Sidharth, Param, Charan, Sateesh Menon,Moti Lal, Koteshwari, Sowjanya and Rajeshwari also took part in the 'Shramdaan' programme. The residents took a pledge that from now onwards, on every Sunday, a member from each family in Saket would take part in the cleaning activity.
