South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya has asked railway officials to focus on maintaining a high degree of alertness to ensure safety of train operations, particularly during the current monsoon season.
Secunderabad (NSS): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya has asked railway officials to focus on maintaining a high degree of alertness to ensure safety of train operations, particularly during the current monsoon season. He was holding a detailed review meeting o¬n safety and punctuality at Rail Nilayam here on Tuesday, along with the principal heads of the departments.
The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded participated in the meeting through a video conference. The General Manager instructed them to intensify the monsoon patrolling and keep a continuous vigil at bridges, water tanks adjacent to the railway track and vulnerable areas. He also stressed o¬n the improvement of train punctuality and freight loading. He also reviewed the loco, signal and track failure incidents which affect the train movement during the recent times.
Gajanan Mallya also took stock of division-wise progress of the works related to implementation of e-Office, e-Drawing, construction of foot-over-bridges, high-level platforms and elimination of unmanned level crossings over the zone and instructed to expedite the works. All the DRMs of the Zone apprised him on the loading performance and other issues related to safety and infrastructure development.
John Thomas, Additional General Manger, K V Siva Prasad, principal chief engineer, K Siva Prasad, principal chief operations manager, and others were present at the meeting.
