Ramachandrapuram: RTC drivers, women conductors and workers reached the BHEL depot from early morning to re-join duty in response to the call by the Joint Action Committee (JAC). There was heavy police deployment to stop the employees under RC Puram CI Ramesh.

The police stopped the employees and union leaders near the depot and arrested them, and shifted to the police stations in RC Puram and Chandanagar. Leader of RTC JAC Venkatesh made an appeal to the depot manager to hear the employees' plea, but it was turned down. The buses were run amid tight security. Passengers travelled as usual in the RTC buses.
