Photo expo on Gandhi opens at Secunderabad stn
The Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Communications, Government of India and South Central Railway jointly organized a photographic exhibition ‘Mana Mahatmudu’ on Platform No. 1 at Secunderabad Railway Station to mark the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary and 73rd Independence Day. G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs, inaugurated the exhibition on Saturday.
Secunderabad: The Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Communications, Government of India and South Central Railway jointly organized a photographic exhibition 'Mana Mahatmudu' on Platform No. 1 at Secunderabad Railway Station to mark the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary and 73rd Independence Day. G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs, inaugurated the exhibition on Saturday.
The photo exhibition showcases rare images of events from Gandhiji's childhood. There are more than 50 pictures showing the importance of our freedom movement, including the education of Gandhiji in Alfred High School, the Champaran Satyagraha, life of Gandhiji in Eravada Prison, the Non-Cooperation Movement, the Salt Satyagraha and the Quit India Movement. In addition, the exhibition also highlights Gandhiji's pivotal role in the last stage movement of 1942 to 1947. The exhibition depicts the rare images of Gandhiji and Kasturba Gandhi returning from South Africa.
