MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, officials warn against illegal structures in nalas
Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi and Corporator Hamida Patel, Miyapur CI Venkatesh, Revenue and GHMC Town Planning officials on Monday warned that strong action would be taken against illegal constructions in nalas in Premnagar, Hanif Colony and Survey No.80.
Kondapur: Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi and Corporator Hamida Patel, Miyapur CI Venkatesh, Revenue and GHMC Town Planning officials on Monday warned that strong action would be taken against illegal constructions in nalas in Premnagar, Hanif Colony and Survey No.80. None, however big, involved would be spared, they stated, asserting that stringent action would follow if anyone resorted to illegal constructions or resorted diversion of nalas during the ongoing de-silting work.
They were reacting to public complaints on the issue after visiting the spots .The MLA and other officials pointed out that illegal occupation was taking place in drainage nalas emerging from Raghavendra Colony, Rajarajeswara Colony, Premnagar, Marthandanagar, Golden Tulasi were being closed by erecting barricades.
Gandhi said the issue would be taken to the notice of the department's principal secretary and pointed out that it was responsibility of everyone to protect government lands. He asserted that the nalas would be protected, while asking officials to continue the work in nalas as scheduled.
The MLA explained during telephonic conversation with the Ranga Reddy District Collector, the RDO and the MRO about the construction of sheds in survey no.80 and filling of soil and taking up of illegal constructions.
Gandhi pointed out that as the government land was involved in a court case no construction work should take place there. He accused some rowdy elements and 'cheats' of resorting to selling of plots to innocent/poor, while warning against any sale transactions. The MLA appealed to people not to get cheated by purchasing plots, with a warning that strong action would be taken against any sale transactions.
Among those present during the inspection were RI Chandra Reddy, VRO Srinivas Naik, AE Srinivas, Town Planning staffer Mani Harika.
