Missing boy handed over to mother

Chanchalguda: The mystery of 15-year-old boy who went missing for about a fortnight has been solved. The boy was handed over to the mother by the Banjara Hills police on Monday.

The mother of Shaik Imran Hussain, an SSC student and a resident of Hakeempet, who had been missing since August 20, had a sigh of relief when the police handed over the boy.

According to MBT spokesman, Amjedullah Khan, who took up the matter with the police officials, the boy went with his friends to Gajwel and did not return home. As his whereabouts were not known, his mother approached the local police station, seeking help in tracing her son.

She even checked with the Gajwel police station, but could not succeed. When she could not find her son for a week, she approached Amjedullah Khan who in turn asked her to register a missing FIR with the Banjara Hills police. Based on her complaint, they started investigation.

"Rizwana Begum later came to know that the boy was in Gajwel police station, as a suspect in a theft case and was being subjected to torture. But his presence was denied by the Sub-Inspector of Police at Gajwel," he said.

Later, Khan took the matter to the notice of DGP, Commissioners of Police Hyderabad, and Siddipet. "Upon the intervention of senior officials, Shaik Imran was handed over by policemen of Gajwel to the Banjara Hills police, who in turn handed over the boy to his mother," he added.
