Leaders pay tribute to deceased scribe Manikyam
MLA Prakash Goud on Tuesday presented the bank deposit bond of Rs10 lakh to the bereaved family of Marpally Manikyam, who died of cardiac arrest recently. The bank deposit bond will help the family as they would get monthly monetary benefit of Rs 5,900 to fulfil at least their basic needs.

People from all walks of life paid tribute to the late journalist at a condolence meeting held at Praja Bhavan, Shivrampally under the aegis of Rajendranagar Constituency Print and Electronic Media Reporters' Union. Addressing the gathering MLA Prakash Goud said," Journalists always strive hard and often put their lives at risk to bring forth the bitter side of society.
In this endeavour they come across various challenge that even pose threat to their lives." Recalling the service of the deceased journalist Marpally Manikyam, the MLA expressed that "since the job of Journalists are not so an easy task to deliver and every day comes with a new and emerging challenge for them, their issues must be addressed on priority basis."
Emphasized the need of taking immense care of the health in achieving the goals in today's hectic life, Shamshabad DCP N Prakash Reddy said "police and journalists are having common cause of keeping the society safe from every evil and this effort demands 24x7 concentration on the issues faced by the people and the solution they need to follow suit.
For this, they have to take care of their health as well to serve people." The guests and journalists' union leaders paid a floral tribute to the portrait of the departed journalist and observed two minutes silence as mark of respect.
Corporator Mailardevpally Srinivas Reddy, ACP Ashok Chakravarthi, district president APUWJ Srikanth Reddy, district president APUWJ 143 Shekhar Sagar also spoke and paid their tributes to the deceased journalist. Senior Journalist Surya Narayana supervised the programme. A large number of media persons were present on the occasion.
