Lack of hygiene at 5-meal canteen

Madhura Nagar: Annapurna Canteen (Rs 5 meals scheme centres), launched by GHMC, in Madhura Nagar is frequented by a lot of people, but lack of civic sense is turning the place an eyesore. Food and plates are strewn all over. The staff of the canteen neither provide a place nor do customers feel it necessary to dispose of the plates properly.

The leftover food decomposes and starts to attract rodents and strays causing a lot of menace for the locals living there. The entire nearby area fills with disposable plates and plastic glasses.
