Karate siblings set new record

G Amrutha Reddy, 14, and G Gana Santhoshinee Reddy, 11, from GVR Karate Academy presented a programme ‘Age of Telangana State’ under the guidance of their trainer GS Gopal Reddy at GVR Karate Academy on Thursday.
Barkathpura: G Amrutha Reddy, 14, and G Gana Santhoshinee Reddy, 11, from GVR Karate Academy presented a programme 'Age of Telangana State' under the guidance of their trainer GS Gopal Reddy at GVR Karate Academy on Thursday. The challenge taken by both the sisters involved lying on a bed consisting 1,827 nails and allowing breaking of 60 shabad stones on their abdomen in 5 minutes.
But the record was accomplished in 3 minutes 10 seconds. This record is being entered in Limca book of records, Wonder book of records and Vishwam Book of World Records. The record is calculated according to the age of Telangana state which is 5 years consisting of 60 months which equals 1,827 days.
It was witnessed by Bingi Narendar Goud, the coordinator of Wonder Book of Records, and S Arun Kumar, coordinator of Vishwam Book of Records. Retired IAS officer Rafath Ali, Dr Devika Rani, Sarmishta Devi, Kiran Kumar along with some black belt holders V Narsingh Rao, Karim, Subash and others were present.
