Kalvakuntla Kavitha rips into Congress & BJP for stalling flood aid
The TRS leader alleges the two parties stopped Rs 10,000 relief fund to flood-affected households in GHMC limits, by complaining to the Election Commission. Hyderabad: MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday attacked the BJP and the Congress, terming them unsympathetic towards the people of Hyderabad. She alleged they were behind stalling of distribution of flood relief in the city.
After completion of the nomination process by the Gandhi Nagar division candidate Mutha Padma Naresh, Kavitha addressed the media. She said that "TRS victory march in GHMC elections will start from Gandhi Nagar division itself." She further said the BJP and INC stopped Rs 10,000 relief fund to every flood-affected households in GHMC limits, by complaining to the Election Commission. She said that these two parties had lost their right to seek votes from people of Hyderabad because they deprived the people of their basic rights amidst the crisis. Kavitha lauded the efforts of CM K Chandrashekar Rao-led TRS government that had carried out development works worth Rs 67,000 crore across Hyderabad in the last 6 years.
Kavitha further spoke about the empathetic nature of the TRS government that stood by its people during the pandemic by providing them Rs 1,500 for expenditure, along with other reliefs to ease the pressure from people and the fast-forwarded will of TRS government was also seen during Hyderabad floods. The government had announced Rs 10,000 for flood-hit families as a relief measure. She also took on the BJP-led Central government for being unresponsive towards the plight of Telangana and its people.
She appealed to the residents of Gandhi Nagar division to come forward and vote in favour of rapid development, under the leadership of CM KCR and party working president KTR. Earlier in the day, she participated in the filing of the nomination papers of Gandhinagar division candidate Mutha Padma Naresh at Abids office. The procession started from Lakshmi Ganapati temple wherein Kavitha sought blessings for the victory of TRS Party in the upcoming elections, MLA Mutha Gopal from Musheerabad and Gandhinagar Division candidate from TRS Party were also present at the temple.
Later in the day, Kavitha shared a video message, wherein she said that Hyderabad made a lot of progress in the last six years under TRS regime and stated that to continue the same development in Hyderabad, the TRS party must win the GHMC elections. She also held a meeting with Mutha Gopal MLA Musheerabad and the party cadre with regards to the Gandhi Nagar division.
