Vidyanagar: The BC Welfare Association has hailed the AP CM's decision to appoint Dr Eshwaraiah, who strived for providing access to higher education to downtrodden sections, as the Chairman of AP Higher Education Council.
Speaking at the association meeting held here on Sunday, the vice president of the association, Jajula Srinivas Goud, expressed special thanks to AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy, on behalf of AP and Telangana units of the association, for the appointment.
Welcoming the decision, he said that it was a historic decision and lauded the CM Jagan for keeping his promise of giving 50 per cent of nominated posts to downtrodden sections. In the same refrain, he criticised the Telangana CM KCR for not providing enough opportunities to downtrodden sections and giving posts to persons from upper castes.

He also denounced a cut in budget allocations to BC welfare in recently presented budget. He warned TRS party that face serious consequences for its prejudiced attitude.
