Hyderabad: M-wallet glitches leave motorists red-faced
- It enables motorists to store driving licence, RC etc in their mobiles
- These could be shown to traffic officials when asked for
- However, of late users are unable to login and access services
Khairatabad: Technical glitches in the M-wallet mobile application, brought by the transport department are leaving the motorists red faced as the problems of the users were not solved even for two to three days.
The M-wallet services were launched in the transport department during March 2016. The mobile application was brought to enable the motorists to store their documents like driving license, registration certificates and other documents in their mobile phones and these can be shown to the enforcement authorities when asked. The traffic challans can also be paid through the app. The app was hailed by the motorists as they could store their documents in their phone and save their originals at their home.
The NITI Aayog too had praised the initiative of the transport department. However, of late, there have been technical glitches in the application. The motorists say that the problem is not being solved even for two to three days. A motorist L Srikanth said that he has been trying to login but unable to do it for the last three days. The application says, "Server was unable to process the request. Mobile number already exists." Apart from this the users are unable to generate the one time password (OTP). Another user Sai Kiran said that he was unable to sign with the OTP process. While I am trying to get my RC info, it raises an error saying "server was unable to process request.'
Another user Sandeep said that his RC was saved in the app earlier but when he tried to open it, the application gets closed. The user uninstalled and reinstalled the app to check if it works but the user was unable to login. The motorist said that earlier it was functioning well but now there were more technical glitches.
The motorists say that the app should show necessary documents when it is checked because these are checked by the traffic police. If the app does not open, the authorities would have doubts on the genuineness of the papers of the motorists. The authorities should sort out the issue immediately, said Sandeep. When this was brought to the notice of the officials in the Transport department, the authorities said that they would look into the problem and solve it.
