Hyderabad cannot be great under TRS, MIM: BJP
BJP TS chief spokesperson rebuts KTR charge of ‘Hyd is not Ahmedabad’
Hyderabad: BJP Telangana State chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao on Sunday said his party agrees when Minister KTR says that Hyderabad is not Ahmedabad. "Under the incompetent governance of TRS and MIM, Hyderabad can never be as great as Ahmedabad."
In a statement on Sunday, he said that Ahmedabad is renowned as 'Manchester of the East' for the textile industry. Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) is one of the largest municipal corporations in India. Its projected budget is Rs 8,907 crore for 2020-21, GHMC governed by TRS lags at just Rs 5380 cr. The revenue projection of AUDA is over Rs10,000 crore while GHMC is pegged around Rs 3,000 crore.
Similarly, Ahmedabad corporation has won global accolades like UNESCO recognising it as 'heritage' city. It was declared as fastest-growing cities of the decade. Ahmedabad was also recognised as 'Best governed and administrated city' in India. Forbes recognised Ahmedabad as the 'fastest growing city' in the world.
Further, Ahmedabad is incomparably vibrant in reference to the economy of Hyderabad. Ahmedabad has its own Stock Exchange and trades actively creating massive wealth for listed businesses. AUDA has created immense opportunities to small businesses with zero licence fee, self-approval compliance system and zero-effort online processing of permissions.
Krishna Saagar Rao said that KTR should know, under his party's misrule Hyderabad can never compete with Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore and other key cities governed by BJP with development centric governance.
GHMC has been driven to bankruptcy under TRS rule, and KTR's sensational statements are only to grab headlines and mislead voters of GHMC.
It's only with BJP's good governance that GHMC can prosper and compete with other big cities of the country. And, the party wishes to lead Hyderabad to be the best-governed cities in the country, if it is elected to power in GHMC, Rao asserts.
