Marking the ‘World Environment Day’, over 600 enthusiastic participants took part in ENVITHON, a Green Run, which was organised by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road on Wednesday.

The mini 5K Run was organised for raising awareness among the masses about the environmental changes and encourage them to go eco-friendly to protect environment. Speaking on the occasion, B Vachan Kumar, member of UNEP, said, "Each individual should take action on increasing rate of air pollution, plastic pollution and should start adapting to biodegradable products.''

The enthusiastic participants were warmed up by Zebronics trainers. The participants were provided with breakfast, participation certificates, T-shirt and saplings. The sponsors for the ENVITHON event were Green-Lace Society Co-sponsored by Advaith Biofules, Zebronics and Needyin with Media Partner V6 News, Sneha TV. Dr G Vivekanand, ex-MP, Purushotham Reddy, Ajay Mishra, IAS, and others participated in the run.
